Dear Parents,
On Thursday, June 9th we will be having our year-end test in reading. The format is exactly the same as past unit tests- stories with comprehension questions, skills questions (skills included in this test: using a chart for information, gathering information from an article and using research resources). There will also be a listening portion, and a writing portion. Students are given three choices to choose from for the writing sample: write an essay comparing yourself to your favorite animal (or) write an informational report about someone you consider a hero (can be someone alive today or someone from the past) (or) make up a story about a natural disaster, tell how people helped others during the disaster.
On Friday, June 10th we will be having our year-end spelling test. Please see the list attached, it is made up of 5 randomly chosen spelling lists from throughout the school year. The actual test will be made up of 20 regular spelling words and 5 super speller words.
We will be preparing for these tests in class, and practice materials will also be sent home.
Please contact me with any questions!
Mrs. Camitta
